Bank’s chequebook gaffe

A Hertfordshire woman asked her bank for a new chequebook – and was sent 200 instead.

Michelle Gordine, 36, of Stotfold, got four full sacks of chequebooks after a computer error at HSBC, reports the Mirror.

As she uses only two books a year, it would take the dancing school owner 100 years to use them all.

Michelle said: “My postman husband estimated they’d cost £100 to send. What a waste of money.”

HSBC said: “This was a rare human error for which we have apologised.”
