367-day year

A town will have two extra days this year – thanks to a gaffe in its official calendar.

Crawley Council spent £5,862 sending its 2007 calendar to 9,500 homes – unaware May 28 is printed twice and November has 31 days.

It wasn’t until a resident of the West Sussex town called the council to point out the blunder that bosses realised, reports Metro.

Rosie Manton, 52, who received one of the calendars, said: “I didn’t realise the mistake at first, but when I went to put a note that it was my son’s birthday on May 28, I realised the council has put the date in twice.

“I can’t believe they didn’t check it before sending them out.”

A council spokesman admitted: “Obviously our proof-reading was not good enough. Next year we will get it right.”
