Carnivore sex off the menu

A new phenomenon in New Zealand is taking the idea of you are what you eat to the extreme.
Vegansexuals are people who do not eat any meat or animal products, and who choose not to be sexually intimate with non-vegan partners whose bodies, they say, are made up of dead animals.
The co-director of the New Zealand Centre for Human and Animal Studies at Canterbury University, Annie Potts, said she coined the term after doing research on the lives of “cruelty-free consumers”.
Caffeinated soap
Don’t have the time for both a shower and a coffee in the morning?

Manufacturers claim their Shower Shock soap releases caffeine that is absorbed into the user’s system and provides the same hit as a two cups of coffee.
The soap is also infused with peppermint and citrus scents so the user doesn’t end up smelling of coffee, reports the Guardian.
A shower gel is also on offer, although the makers, Think Geek, warn that neither is recommended for pregnant women or children because of the caffeine content.
Jennifer Kuropkat, of Think Geek, said: “Every full body wash with the Shower Shock soap will provide the equivalent of around two cups worth of coffee.
“The caffeine is absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. It has exactly the same effect as if you were drinking coffee. Your blood pressure and pulse rate will increase, making your brain feel more alert and awake.
“The caffeine will then last in your system for approximately four hours – the same as two cups of coffee. They really are time-saves as you don’t have to wait around for your coffee to brew in the morning.”
The 4oz bars of soap, available via the internet, cost £3.50, and there is also a smaller travel version. The Mountain Dew shower gel costs £6.50.

A Chinese park has reportedly painted stripes on a horse and is charging people to have pictures taken with the ‘zebra’.
Shenyang botanical park is charging 30p each for pictures with the animal which, as well as painted black stripes, has fluffy white hair.
When asked if the zebra is real, the feeder answered: “It’s from Africa. What do you call it, if it’s not a zebra?”
“We saw right away that the zebra is fake, but we are here for fun, so it doesn’t really matter,” said a mother who had just paid for her child’s picture.
According to the City Evening News, the park says it doesn’t know if the horse is a zebra or not: “It’s not that important. It is for fun,” said a spokesman.

MySpace deletes 29,000 sex offender profiles
MySpace deletes 29,000 sex offender profiles
MySpace.com has found and deleted more than 29,000 registered sex offenders with profiles on the popular social networking Web site — more than four times the number cited by the company two months ago, officials in two states Tuesday.
North Carolina’s Roy Cooper is one of several attorneys general who recently demanded the News Corp.-owned Web site provide data on how many registered sex offenders were using the popular social networking site, along with information about where they live.
After initially withholding the information, citing federal privacy laws, MySpace began sharing the information in May after the states filed formal legal requests.
At the time, MySpace said it had already used a database it helped create to remove about 7,000 profiles of sex offenders, out of a total of about 180 million profiles on the site.

Fowl!

Two chickens have become well known in China for their skills with a football.
Owner Ms Zhang says the two bantams have become addicted to the game.
“I found an unwanted football on the way home around three months ago, and brought it home and kicked it to the two cocks. They were scared at first,” she told the People’s Daily.
But after a while, the chickens started to play with and fight for the ball.
“I now bring them downstairs everyday to play football. They are quite addicted to the sport,” she added.
“They know how to break through, slide-tackle, and make a fair charge.”

Bridesmaids for hire
Bridesmaids for hire
A Chinese girl is to launch her own company, hiring out professional bridesmaids for weddings.
Xu Lisha, a student at the Tianjin Institute of Professional Technology, is recruiting staff from universities.
In an online ad, she says she’s looking for: “University students are a must. Slim, generous looking, who deal with wedding incidents with wisdom and quick reactions.”
Xu told the Daily News: “I feel students are more pure and have good courtesies. More importantly, they need the money.”
She has hired herself out as a bridesmaid three times already and says she came up with the idea after seeing there is good market demand.
“As positions like wedding host, cameraperson and make-up artist have been professionalised, the same goes for bridesmaids. Future couples would love to hire professional bridesmaids. This is going to be the trend.”
